The committee members also thank the citizens of Lake Benton who have donated their time, food or money used towards the auction sale lunches. The committee will be conducting the auction sale lunch this weekend, July 22, at Carpenter Auction. If you would like to donate your time, money, or a pan of bars to be used at the sale, please contact Deann Schindler at 368-9206 or Jody Nomeland at 368-4886.

Yard of the week

This week’s Lake Benton Chamber of Commerce “Yard of the Week” is the home of Margie and Eldie Schmidt.

Picking a a particular spot to take pictures was difficult at this home. Everytime you thought you had seen everything, something else would catch your eye. Flowers, vegetables, strawberries, birds and blooms are everywhere. An occasional tractor or wagon holds flowers around the yard. The Schmidts enjoy having coffee in the back overlooking the terraced back yard. Thanks to you, Margie and Eldie, for helping keep Lake Benton beautiful! Winners receive $10 in chamber bucks.

Activities for the three days focused on “The Amazing Treasure” - games, activities and Bible studies modeled after the TV show “The Amazing Race.”

Cory Berger, Kayla Berger, Tyler Trageser and Alisha Rouge accompanied Deb Schaefer and Pastor Windsperger to Grand Rapids.

Next year, the WELS International Youth Rally will be held for over 3,000 WELS teens in Dallas, TX over the Fourth of July Weekend.

Inset: The kids had to paddle a canoe out to Pastor Windsperger’s boat to receive their next clue for the scavenger hunt. He CLAIMS he wasn’t fishing.... hmmmm, you be the judge. —submitted photos
